You may have seen this report over the weekend, but have you thought about how many people 300,000 dead human beings really is? Tony of Trojan Horseshoes has a suggestion: think of Tampa being obliterated. Or, click here for a visual illustration of 300,000.

Hi John,
I've just gotten around to following up your Mom's e-mail of your link from some time ago. Continue the great work--but watch your health--emotional and other. This "world," meaning sensate humans, is, in my estimation, totally absurd. As to "democratic nations," as in the US or any, being an avenue to foster same worldwide, I hear the voice of a former colleague, political scientist, name forgotten, "a pox on all their houses." The US is a shaky model of democracy, as the concept is defined. Probably better than others, to date, but woefully inadequate as a model. I am, generally, a complete skeptic, watching for the next step in evolution --perhaps a more intelligent progression, using the term to mean balanced in vital areas. Be good to yourself.
