Conventional Wisdom
My newest AmSpec, on the speeches in Boston thusfar, is now posted.
Dear Mr. Tabin,
I too was struck by the well delivered speech of Mr. Obama. It gave a positive veiw of our great nation but I agree with Senator Rauschenberger in that the message wasn't Mr. Obama. I watched C-Span2 coverage of previous Presidential Convention. It struck me as odd that Mr. Obama's speech was exactly the same as Vice President Agnew in 1972 except for a few words here and there. Tell me why would a politician pifer someone elses speech and not cite them by name. I am sure Mr. Obama doesn't work for the New York Times who have become notorious for intellectual plagiarism. Surely this was a mistake performed by his speech writer, but then again in our day and age we have toss aside honesty and morality. In the end Mr Obama gave the delegate a moment of glee yet vain glory is short lived without moral substance to back it up.
