A Well Fine Speech

I review President Bush's performance in New Orleans (and ABC reporter Dean Reynolds's performance in Houston) in today's AmSpec column.

UPDATE: Brent Baker at the Media Research Center has the transcript of the ABC segment refered to in my column, along with a video clip.

Good Lord!

The president has lost his mind - his speech last night, from blaming poverty on racism to promising to spend 'federal" dollars at record levels was indeed a return to form. Unfortunately, the form he returned to was the form of a New Deal Democrat.

you wrote a great column john, but to some degree i am concerned about the endless spending. NO will recover far more quickly than the media is saying. also, i am not aware of a news story that the media consistently got more inaccurate. maybe they want simply to hurt bush.

I'm concerned about the spending, too, but I deliberately left the policy questions out of this column to focus on the politics. People often confuse the two.
